,:~ I~TROOUCTION
This report is an addendum to the report entitled Soil Inventory - Kline Facilities,
Disposal Site and Pit 6 and 7 Areas, June 1, 1979. That report contains all of the
information required under the guidelines of the Colorado Cline Land Reclamation
Board and the OSM Permanent Regulatory Progra~ Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation
Operations, Part 783, Underground hlining Permit Applications Minimum Requirements
for Information on Environmental Resources. This report contains only the
information necessary to supplement that report for the corridor from the Pit 6 and
7 area and the corridor from the Eagle 9A area to the loadout facilities. This
report contains:
o Two maps showing corridors and roads from the Eagle 9A area and
Pit 6 and 7 areas to the loadout facilities.
o The soil profile descriptions of a Lithic Torriorthent from
within the corridor, a table showing Depths of suitable topsoil
~~ material in corridor areas.
o Recommendations for soil handling in the corridor areas.
o Analytical data for a Lithic Torriorthent (table 5-2
Revised).
The soil maps (in packet) are adapted from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soii
Conservation Service (SCS) Intensity II surrey for the permit area. The SCS mapping
was transferred from a map of 1" = 1,000 feet (1:12,000) to a map of 1" = 200 feet
(1:3,000). Additional field mapping has been conducted on the corridor areas and
the mapping refined during a field sampling program in early ,4u gust, i9?9.
the same soil mapping units as described in the Legend of the original soil
inventory occur in the corridor areas. The soil mapping units 101E and 101E have
been slightly revised to show the percentage of the map units occupied by Lithic
Torriorthents.
The soil series in this report are the same series as described in the original soil
inventory.
i
