' PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS
' The following permits have been applied for:
• Division of Minerals and Geology, 1 l2 Permit for Mining of Sands and Gravels is in the
' review process;
• Colorado Department of Tr~artsportation Access Permit has been approved;
' • Army Corps of Engineers Section 404 Permit is in the review process;
• City of Rifle Watershed Protection permit has been approved;
' • Garfield County Special Use Permit is in the application process;
' • Garfield County Fooodp[ain Use Permit is in the application process.
s
SUMMARY
' High Country Engineering has determined the existing and proposed floodplain limits per Garfield
County and FEMA standazds. The comparison of these floodplain elevations indicate that the
' proposed berms and gravel pits will have a net effect of raising the 100 yeaz water surface
elevations by 1.3 feet or less. The armoring of the berms decreases the probability of having the
Colorado River captured by the gravel pits. The proposed Mamm Creek Gravel Pit incorporates
' the recommendations from multiple review agencies to generate a plan that is conscious of the
environment and economically feasible to the client.

1
1
