Stability Xonitorine
According to the Amuedo and Ivey report regarding both pond and road stability, end [he
geotechnicel investigations presented in Ground Engineering~s report, the majority of the
structures (road and pond) are located on stable ground. Areas of the road alignment that
are located in questionable stable areas ere not likely to be suj act to rapid or
catastrophic movement, The entire toed alignment will be visually inspection on a daily
basis (during usage) for any movement. Any cracking, slumping, sloughing, etc. will be
rapidly corrected so that the problem does not intensify.
As an added measure of safety, survey monuments will be instelLed near the pond location
as shown on Exhibit 13-5. These monuments will be surveyed quarterly (weather permitting)
to detect any movement and kept on file at the mine. CDMG will be notified of any major
movement detected and a remediation plan will be prepared based on the severity of the
situation. If no (or negligible) movement is detected after four quarters, [he
information will be submitted to CDMG along with a request to suspend the monitoring.
Monitoring results were submitted to CDMG on January 6, 1994 in MR No. 29. The monuments
were surveyed on six different occasions between 8/5/92 and 10/4/93. No appreciable
movement was detected. O"
At the request of CDMG, the monitoring pins were surveyed in June 1994. No appreciable
movement was detected; therefore, monitoring was suspended. Final monitoring results were
submitted to CDNG on July 21, 1994 in MR No. 31. Monitoring pins will remain in piece for
future reference.
Selected References
8arf field, B.J., Warner, R.C., end Naan, C.T. 1983.
