M-87-074, Adequacy Response.
On behalf of our client Dotsero Block, Inc., we will respond to the
adequacy questions we discussed on September 21, 1987.
1. To keep the bond costs as low as possible Dotsero Block, Inc. will mine
the face of the quarry as close to it's final configuration as possible.
At this time the slope is nearly vertical but as mining progresses this
year and the BLM marks more timber for removal, Dotsero will begin to
create the slope as they mine.
2. As we discussed, at the current time there is not any bedrock showing
thru the floor of the pit. in the past when the rock is exposed it
becomes covered during normal operations because of the loose nature of
the cinder. If we were to have large areas of exposed rock we will
cover it within one year of exposure with the 12-18 inches as required
for a root zone. We donot expect large areas of bedrock to be exposed
at anyone time.
If you have any further questions please let me know and I will be glad
to give you the answers as soon as possible. I hope these answers consistent
with our discussion yesterday.
Sincerely,
~Y LCs~
Stevan L. O'Brian
Vice President
cc Dotsero Block, inc., Robert Whitman
