Division of Minerais6Geotogy
Deaz Sir,
I am writing in response to Mr. Gary Tuttle's telephone request that I clarify my position in my Novem-
ber 21 letter (quoted below) regazding his firm and Ms. Shani Eastin, a former Weld County Planning
Department employee.
"Finally, it has come to my attention that Ms. Shani Eastin, a former Weld County planning department
employee, is now representing Camas as a catsultant wilt Tuttle Applegate Engineering. Since she
apparently has no engineering degree, one can only assume she is brokering her inFluence. This is
highly irregular and the entire application should be denied on this basis alone:'
I have no evidence that Ms. Eas[in or Tuttle Applegate Engineering is breaking any laws and that my
personal perception re-stated above is based on the simple appearance of impropriety when an ex-
entployee coordinates n complex application submittal through lter fornter planning department. Is it
not possible that her personal contacts and knowledge of internal procedures could create an undue
advantage for the applicant?
To the best of my knowledge ltrttle Applegate Engineering is a highly reputable firm and I wish
them no ill will or bad publicity.
Sincerely,
Chuck Rehmer
Poudre River Ridge resident xc: county commissioners
greeley tribune, senator Owens
