As
to the proposal visual berm, this will be used to stock
pile the topsoil salvaged from the site. Consequently,
it is hard to estimate the height and width of the berm.
If you have a specific recommendation as to height and
width of the berm, we will try to adhere to them. Once
the project is mined out, the topsoil stored in the berm
will be returned to the site and used in reclamation.
Your recommendations as to shrubs and seeding of the
berm and the reclamation project are agreeable to the
county, however, we must consult the Soil Conservation
Service as they made the initial recommendations and the
Bureau of Land Management as the property owner.
I have prepared letters to each agency and hand
delivered them on this date (OS-17-90). Their responses
should be forth coming as soon as possible. We would
like to have this item considered by your Board on May
23, 1990 if possible.
Sincerely,
Marshall Butler
P.ssistant Planning Director
M:B/lr
Enc.
