• 2.05.3
The embankment specification presented above applies to this road
segment.
Drainage
The discussion of drainage presented above under the discussion of the
main haul road is applicable to this road segment.
Haul Road Reclamation
The haul road from old State Highway 133 to the portal area will not be
totally reclaimed, Asphalt surfacing will be removed from the entire road
surface. The waste asphalt will either be recycled or placed in the gob pile
for final disposal. The road bed will be narrowed from a travel width of over
24 feet to a travel width of 14 to 16 feet. The road is to be left in place so the
light use roads on the property are reestablished after reclamation. Map 18,
Post Mining Topography showsthe road is rerouted in the facilities area after
the area is reclaimed. The rerouted road is designed to connect to the
• existing light use roads. This road reclamation plan is compatible with the
postminig land use of rangeland and wildlife habitat since roads are
necessary to manage both land uses and a light use road network was
existing on the property prior to mining.
Three culverts will be left in place to provide for drainage from C-Gulch.
These culverts are located where the haul road crosses the ephemeral
drainage channels. The three culverts (C-C6, C-C8 & C-Cg) are 36-inch
diameter. All of the culverts are designed to pass the 10 year precipitation
event. Water bars will be utilized to control the drainage from the postmining
light use road.
The landowner and the applicant are the same entity. Through this permit
application the landowner approves the reclamation plan to leave the
culverts and light use road in place.
A discussion of the access and light use roads in the permit area follows:
An access road will be constructed from the portal bench to the utility bench
as shown on the Facilities Map 15-2. The road is a total of about 1600 feet
. long with the maximum grade of 12%. This access road will provide access
to the water tank and substation and provide the necessary tie to the light
PR-07
2.05 - 24 - 2/03
R PPRoVeD
s/IZ~o3
