In the bottom of Sanborn Creek Canyon (Figure Z), where it eminates
from the high cliffs, there is a small frame stable or barn and recent
• middens which include car bodies and other relatively recent trash.
None of this was more than a couple of decades old.
In keeping with the methodology outlined for recent Euroamerican
manifestations, none of these recent resources were formally recorded
and deserve no further consideration.
The project area revealed no meaningful historical resources which
justify recording under any guidelines and there is no evidence or
suggestion that any such resources might exist in it.
Summary Recommendations
Despite substantive evidence of recent Euroamerican occupation and
usage, the project yielded no potential National Register eligible
historic or prehistoric cultural resources and should be considered free
of cultural resource concerns.
No mitigation planning cr ether consideration for cultural
resources is justified unless additional resources are revealed by
constructior~ activities during portal development. If such resources
are revealed, the resources should be protected from damage until
evaluated by the project a~•chaeologist.
C J
v
