RECLAMATIUN PLAN
Weed control should not 6e implemented unless the density of the weeds
is such that grass growth is severely stunted and grass density is very low
(less than an average of 2 grass plants per square foot). Chemical control is
preferred to mechanical control because mechanical control often maintains the
presence of many weeds. Most weeds thrive in mechanically disturbed
conditions. Moderate and low density weed growths will be left to run their
course. In most instances, moderate and low density weed growths will control
themselves in two to three years, if left alone.
In all instances where a designated noxious weed is found on the site at
a concentration that, in the opinion of local conservation experts, poses a
threat to adjacent lands and to the successful revegetatim of this site, that
weed will be controlled by taking appropriate measures. The method of control
will be dependent upon the species of weed and how it is best controlled.
Irrigation will not be applied. Not only is there no water available to
irrigate with, but a stranger, better adapted vegetation will be developed if
it is allowed to establish itself under normal climatic conditions. If the
seeding occurs during the periods stated above, irrigation is not necessary.
u

Page 22
