The
seed being a mixture of native grass species as recommended by the
Thorne Ecological Institute.
April 15, 1975 - The east face of the fill for the stockpile and
plant area was seeded again with Crested idheat. The seed was sown
with a hand seeder.
April 1, 1976 - A drain pipe was installed in the east end of the
fill for the stockpile and plant area as per our drainage plans.
~ The area disturbed by this installation and the fill face of the
haul road to ttie scale house ~oere seeded again caith a mixture of
1 Crested Wheat and Blue Grama (native) grasses. There
has not been enough time elapse for the Piay 24, '76 seeding to be
evaluated. Better results were ohtained by the hard broadcaster
than by the IZydro-mulching. Results from the experimental hydro-
mulcl~ing of the cut banks were negative. All of the seedings were
conducted as recommended by the Thorne Ecological Institute.
Reclamation to the access road from the plant area to the top of
the quarry is complete and expected to be sufficient with exception
to proper maintenance. For details of reclamation and gro~oth
accomplishments, refer to the Thorne Ecological Institute's report
of 1975. .
All other reclamation plans have not commenced due to mining
activities not being completed in any other areas.
