SPCC Plan -Cooley Reservoir & Wildlife Area
January I3, ?000
volume of a tank truck leak could approach 3,000 gallons if the compamnent were full. The combination
of the containment, attended unloading, and grading of the ground surface at the site is expected to
contain and then slow spilled oil (e.g., petroleum, oil, lubricants, waste oil) in the soil.
In the drum storage shed neaz the shop, spills due to equipment failure could potentially occur at the
drums. If a drum was to leak, the oil could be expected to be initially contained within the steel building
and concrete pad. If the volume of material spilled exceeded the volume of the containment, the spilled
material would be expected to flow across the ground surface or seep into the soil to the surface
depression west of the tanks. If a drum of grease was to leak in the second shed, the grease would be
expected to be confined to the shed.
In the fuel and oil storage area near the pit, spills due to equipment failure could potentially occur at the
tanks or in filling the tanks. If a fuel or oil tank was to leak, the material could be expected to be
contained within the steel containment (gasoline and waste oil) or containment offered by the trailer and
liner (diesel and oil). If the tank truck delivering fuel or oil was to leak, the material would be expected
to flow across the ground surface or seep into the soil to the surface depression north of the plant tank
containments. If a drum of grease was to leak in the grease shed, the grease would be expected to be
confined to the shed.
1.3 FACILITY DRAINAGE
Storm water at the stte is expected to drain from the stte perimeter and collect in various surface
depressions at the site and to flow to the pit prior to discharge from the site. Storm water at the facility is
not treated.
2.0 BULK STORAGE TAt~IKS
The factlity has fuel and oil storage tanks near the shop and fuel and oil storage tanks near the ptt (see
Figure 1).
