SPILL MANAGEMENT
In the event of a spill of petroleum, oils, or lubricants:
DO:
• Shut off supply, stop leak (if possible)
• Shut off ignition sources
• Contain spill and/or dike ahead of spill
• Call your supervisor
• Protect adjacent people, property, surface
waters, and equipment from contact with spill
• Follow MSDS for clean-up guidance
DON'T:
• Smoke
• Risk personal injury
• Wash dowp spill with water
• Try to hide spill

In the event of any spill at the facility, contact:

REGULATORY NOTIFICATIONS
Spills greater than certain volumes are reportable to Regulatory Agencies, which will be
contacted by the Environmental & Safety Department (see also Section 8.0).

A release of a material containing a hazardous constituent (e.g., benzene) in a volume that would
exceed the reportable quantity for that constituent (i.e., total material volume x percent of
constituent present mmaterial =volume of constituent spilled) as listed in 40 CFR 302 is
reportable to the National Response Center (listed above), the CDPHE (listed above), and [he
Loco] Emergency Planning Committee.
