iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii ~ <br />SPCC PLAN <br />Coolev Reservoir and Fulton Wildlife Area <br />(New Thornton Mine) <br />SPILL MANAGEMENT <br />In the event of a spill of petroleum, oils, or lubricants: <br />DO: <br />• Shut off supply, stop leak (if possible) <br />• Shut off ignition sources <br />• Contain spill and/or dike ahead of spill <br />• Call your supervisor <br />• Protect adjacent people, property, surface <br />waters, and equipment from contact with spill <br />• Follow MSDS for clean-up guidance <br />DON'T: <br />• Smoke <br />• Risk personal injury <br />• Wash dowp spill with water <br />• Try to hide spill <br />COMPANY NOTIFICATIONS <br />In the event of any spill at the facility, contact: <br />Iohn Rose, Plant Manager 303-289-5700 <br />(designated responsible person for cleanup of spills) <br />In the event of larger spills (e.g., greater than l0 gallons), contact: <br />Environmental 3c Safety Department 303-985-1070 <br />Tom Maul, Production Manager 303-985-1070 <br />Pat Ward, Operations Manager 303-985-1070 <br />Rick Mergens, Vice President 303-985-1070 <br />REGULATORY NOTIFICATIONS <br />Spills greater than certain volumes are reportable to Regulatory Agencies, which will be <br />contacted by the Environmental & Safety Department (see also Section 8.0). <br />• A release of greater than ?5 gallons of petroleum, oils, or lubricants, notify: <br />State Oil Inspector 303-620-4029 <br />nv size release that reaches surface water, groundwater, dry gullies, or storm sewers <br />Colorado Depattment of Public Health and Environment (24 hours) 303-756-4455 <br />(wntten notification must follow verbal notification) <br />National Response Center 1-800-424-8802 <br />A release of a material containing a hazardous constituent (e.g., benzene) in a volume that would <br />exceed the reportable quantity for that constituent (i.e., total material volume x percent of <br />constituent present mmaterial =volume of constituent spilled) as listed in 40 CFR 302 is <br />reportable to the National Response Center (listed above), the CDPHE (listed above), and [he <br />Loco] Emergency Planning Committee. <br />
