I was accompanied by Ms. Susan Nall
of the Corps of Engineers and Dwain Watson of our Grand Junction office. While
in the area we observed the Farnsworth Sand and Gravel operation located in the
NW 1/4 Section 6 Township 14S, Range 91W just west of Paonia on the south side
of the river.
It appeared to me that t:he North Fork channel was being mined and that dredged
material had been planed within the active channel causing significant damage to
the channel. I would appreciate being advised if this is a permitted facility
and if so, are they operating within the terms and conditions of their permit.
I may be contacted at 331-4579 if you have any questions.
Thank you.
Sincerely
~.~~ ~ o~
J.
