APX 0 Paae - 3
The foregoing road compliance statement on pages 1 and 2 is applicable to the entitle
road from Colorado State Highway 139 to the Munger Canyon Mine site. The entire j
road is approximately 10,660 feet long. As discussed below, 6,300 feet of the road lias
been converted to a haul road leaving 4,360 feet categorized as access road.
Section 2.2,2.1, Waste Disposal Haul Road, explains that access to the waste dispo
area is from Colorado State Highway 139 as shown on Figure 2.2-7b. The haul road
approximately 6,300 feet long with an average grade of 2.3%. The maximum pitch
grade of the road is 3%. There are virtually no road cuts on this haul road section. I
constructed on grade in the valley floor. During late 2004 approximately 1,000 feet c
the haul road was relocated to the north to provide room for the construction of the
waste disposal area. The relocated section of haul road was also constructed on the
valley floor. All vegetation material and topsoil was removed from the design road b
and shoulders. No vegetation material or topsoil was placed beneath or in any haul
road embankment. Compaction was provided by hauling equipment which was rout
over the fill and routing varied sufficiently to achieve uniform compaction. Gravel wa
salvaged from the existing roadbed and replaced on the relocated haul road segmerl
The entire relocated road segment is within the disturbed area associated with the ci
waste disposal site, and drainage from the road segment is directed to the sedimen~
pond.
Typically the haul road is 16 to 20 feet wide. The haul road is plated with pit run gr.
surfacing. This road is secured with a locked gate where it crosses over Salt Creet
Therefore, use is very limited. The truck traffic which will utilize this haul road segm
will be 10 wheel and 18 wheel trucks. Truck traffic will also be very limited and
sporadic. Considering the low volume and sporadic use of the haul road, the width
surfacing of the haul road should be adequate for the intended traffic.
The haul road from State Highway 139 to the gob pile will be periodically watered
maintained with a motor grader. Gravel will be added to the road surface as nece:
Ditches along the roadway will be periodically cleaned with a motor grader and the
shoulders will be smoothed,
The-haul road will be reclaimed in accordance with Section 3.3.1, Backfill and
Lower Road.
~~®~~.:
~°~f,n ~ •:4~E
G~~
a >o E.
