Sample locations are shown on Map 1 in
Appendix A.
PRDDUCi'ION ESTIMtaTES
Field Techniques. Circulaz wire exclosure:a, approximately 1.5m in dia-
meter and 1.Sm high were situated at each r_andanly located sample point
during May, 1979. All exclosures were wnstructed of 2x4 inch mesh wire
to prevent grazing by all mediian-sized (i.e., rabbits) and large marmials.
Fxclosures were supported by '~ inch steel reinforcing rods and labeled
as described previously for cover quadrats.. The number of production
exclosures established in the revegetation plot was the same as the num-
ber of Dover quadrats (100).
Exclosures were left in place throughout tYie 1979 growing season. All
exclosures were sampled on the revegetation plot and adjacent native. •
undisturbed sites during the period August 9 through Septanber 6, 1979.
-6-
