Size of Affected Area: Parcel 1- 22.5 acres for processing, stock-

General Location & Description: 22 mi south of Golden z mile N4l of I-70 in
Jackson Gulch. Area is cY~aracterized by a lac}:
of surface and subsurface water, deficient
top soil, and spares vegetation.

lwpe of Mining Operation: Basic method is normal quarry mining con-
sisting of drilling, blasting, power-shovel
loading, transporting. Suitable overburden
will be stockpiled. Crystalline rock will be
removed in 20 ft. layers to desired elevations.
Highwall created will not exceed 80°. Paces
will be intersected by 20 ft. minimum width
benches, at least every 50 ft. in elevation.
