ESHIBCT D - y1.V1:yi. PLAN
• The permit area is ~45.~B acres in size and will be excavated to
provide sand material for off-property projects. The e~:cavation
caill proceed from south to north in four phases. Except when the
Creek runs after storm events, the operation will be a dry pit
operation. Equipment is stored outside of the dry Creek bed area.
When the Creel: flows, the operation ceases until the area drys-up
so excavation can be continued.
•
There is no e~:act timetable for beginning and ending excavation.
Beginning will be determined by when the two needed permits IMLRB
and Conntyl are issued, and an available user desires the material.
Ending will be dependent upon the amount of demsnd and the amount
• and quality of the excavated material. The operation is expected
to last up to lU years.
Since there is no surface topsoil, no surface material will be
stripped for later revegetation. For each phase, excavation will
proceed from south to north. Material will be excavated using
backhoes and other equipment. It may be loaded directly into
~ trucks, or stockpiled. The floor of the e~:cavat, ion will b.' have a
mu ope of '!:6. 'Ilse side slo es will not be left steeper than
'L to 1 to porarily. and to 1 for final reclama ion.
Since this is a dry pit operation. there will be no affect or
• injury to any- wager ri,hts. No processing of the material will be
undertaken, e~:cept possibly washing. Water for washing and dust
control will be obtained from one of the shallow permir.ted wells on
the property owned by the applicant. Watering of stockpiles and the
access road for control fugitive dust emissions will be undertaken
as needed.
~ 'Phe hai.~l route for transport of material from the site will utilize
the existing access road to Calhoun-Byers Mile Road, then south to
Byers. That County road is gavel from the entrance south for 1
1/2 miles, then is paved.
~ The operatior, will normally operate from i:00 .~.M until i:UU P.M.
~ ~ five days a week. However. since there are no homes within the
\ area, no restrictions are proposed on days or hours o*_' operation.
This which could allow the operator to increase the hours and days
of operation for a .iob needing a rapid suppl~• of material.
• map on the previous page shows the pre-mining conditions and the
mi ing plan graphically.
- ~ w~c( ~ s fie ~ ~ro d-~-G`~ U skor,,~ w a.'re`--~ ~
-~f~o~v.~rv~~'1' ~ tc~y-~eU ~zfW~~ ?
•
