W e
are aware of this site and have verified the jurisdictional wetlands on the
property. The applicants have hired a consultant and begun talking with us
about their proposed mining plan. We have talked with them about the need
for an alternatives analysis (on and offsite) and urged them to revisit ways
to further avoid direct and indirect impacts to waters at and near this
site. A formal permit application has not been received, but is expected.
Please keep us apprised of any additional information or actions by your
agency relating to this site.
Sincerely,
Susan B.
