Doc Date:1 211 112 0 0 1
r~~- f
• f It 2.05.3(41 Ponds. Impoundments and Diversions t/
~~i i~iiiiiiniu iii
The Engleville Gulch drains an area of approximately 1,463 acres near the lowest point
of disturbance on the permit area. Other than one minor area of permanent diversion,
the Engleville Gulch will not be disturbed.
All disturbed area will be drawn into two collection ditches, one on either side of the
Engleville Gulch. The collection ditch on the eastern side of Engleville Gulch will
cross above the gulch to join the western collection ditch. This ditch will then drain
into one sediment pond located near the low point of the permit area.
***'* In the summer and fall of 1993, the mine was permanently reclaimed and the
area east of Engleville Gulch was never mined. Therefore, the east ditch described
above was never installed. Only the collection ditch west ojthe Gulch delivers water
to the .sediment pond. See revrsed Exhibit KK-1 jor post-reclamation hydrology details.
There are 5 small exemption areas for the permit area. These are described in detail
on pages 42-44A.
• The undisturbed area above the mine area is relatively small, thus eliminating the need
for diversion ditches.
In order to conduct mining on the east side of Engleville Gulch, a low crossing will be
constructed in the bottom of the channel in the area of the permanent diversion
segment. An existing crossing between the sediment pond and the mine areas will be
used to gain access to the topsoil stockpile.
-1.
• Revised for permit renewal 11/17/95
