The pit floor is very porous and any stormwater falling in the pit is quickly
absorbed or evaporated.
The Fraser River is located north and east of the permit area at distances in excess of
400 feet. The river flows generally southeast to northwest and is a perennial stream.
The permit area is not in the 100-year floodplain of the river. The proposed mining
operation is not anticipated to have any impact on the Fraser River.
DeBerard Draw is present along the western boundary of the site. It is an intermittent
stream, containing constructed wetlands created by the applicant as a mitigation
requirement of their Nationwide Permit (Corps File No. 200575220). These wetland
areas are closely monitored and regulated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mining
activities will not occur in wetland areas.
Groundwater
Groundwater is not expected to be encountered by mining or reclamation operations. If
a water table were present within the hill seeps and springs would develop where that
water table intersected the flanks of the hill and these features are not present.
Groundwater elevation is most likely at the same level as the wetlands adjacent to
DeBerard Draw, which is below the planned final grade.
There are no water welts located on the subject property or within 600 feet of the permit
boundary.
Potable. Sanitary and Dust Control Water
Site personnel will use bottled water for potable water and will use the golf course
clubhouse sanitary facilities; therefore there is no water demand for these purposes. A
5,000-gallon water truck, filled off-site, will be used for dust control purposes.
Granby Realty Holdings, LLC September 25, 2006
Overlook Mine Page 12
