' RSCLA!lATION pLAA
SSHIBIT B (Continued)
siltation structures involved in this operation. There will be no
earthen dams.
' The mining and reclamation plans take into consideration
existing wildlife conditions. Mining operations have been an
integral part of the land use in this area since 1941 or earlier.
The mining and reclamation plans take into account the safety
and protection of wildlife remaining on the mine site, at the
' processing sites and along all access roads to the site. Wildlife
habitat creation and management is not a specific part of the
' reclamation plan. However, whenever possible, the operator will
work toward the improvement of the habitat for wildlife.
Topsoil in the area is either nonexistent or extremely poor
in quality. When topsoil must be removed to reach the mineral
' deposit, the topsoil will be segregated and stockpiled. If the
topsoil stockpiles are not to be disturbed within a short enough
period of time, one year, they will seeded with a vegetative cover
' or other means will be employed to preserve the topsoil from wind
and weather erosion and keep it free of contaminants so that it remains
' useful for sustaining vegetation when reclamation begins. The
stockpiles will be located in areas where disturbances by ongoing
' mining operations will be at a minimum; ie. along the sides of
each stage. The topsoil will be handled as little as possible
' until it is replaced into disturbed areas. The operator will take
measured necessary to insure the stability of the replaced topsoil
on graded slopes, spreading it as evenly a possible.
RBCLAMATION TIlO;TABLe
'

Phase

year
I
s Total Acres
Revege-
tation +

Road
Undist-
urbed
0 4-6 7.59 6.92 0.41 0.26
' 1 4-6 21.05 19.78 0.59 0.68
2 4-6 23 .23 * 2.2,.Q.Q 0.57 0 .25
TOTALS 51.87 48.79 1.57 1.19
' *
Contains 0.32 acres ± of pre-law mined ar ea.
1
17
