• <br />Figure 1 <br />NOTICE OF BLASTING SCHSDIILS <br />WALDEN COAL COMPANY <br />In accordance with 30 CFR 816.64 Walden Coal Company, PO <br />Box 37, Cowdrey, Colorado 80434, whose mining operating is <br />located in T9N R78W of the 6th Principal Meridian, in Jackson <br />County, Colorado hereby provides public notice of the blasting <br />schedule commencing on <br />1. Blasting will occur within the following specific <br />areas: <br />A. S 1/2, SE 1/4 of Section 7, and <br />B. N 1/2, NE 1/4 of Section 18 T9N R78W. <br />2. Commencing on , blasting <br />will occur between the hours o 7:30 - 8:~0 a.m.; <br />10:30 - 11:30 a.m.; 1:30 - 3:30 p. m. Mondays <br />through Fridays. <br />L <br />3. The general mine area is identified by a sign on <br />the access road restricting entry to authorized <br />personnel. The sign which identifies the area as a <br />blasting area also describes the warning and all <br />clear signals. All charged holes are guarded and <br />posted against unauthorized entry. Access to the <br />immediate area of a blast site is cleared and <br />controlled by qualified mine personnel prior to a <br />blast. <br />4. One long siren shall be sounded approximately <br />three (3) minutes before the blast. Two short <br />tones from the siren will signal the all clear. <br />5. Blasting at times other than those described in the <br />schedule may occur if certain unavoidable hazardous <br />situations are seen to exist, if: <br />A. Previously approved by the appropriate <br />regulatory authority, or <br />B. Where Walden Coal Company or the public safety <br />requires, such as, <br />i) Destruction of damaged or deteriorated <br />explosives or detonators in a safe <br />manner; <br />ii) Disposal of misfires andjor undetonated <br />explosives; <br /> <br />-4- <br />
