turbed areas have been contoured, seeded and mulched.
This phase of the reclamation of the mine site was com-
plete by the end of November 1988. In accordance with
Rule 3.03.1(2) up to sixty percent of the bond amount
shall be released when the permittee successfully com-
pletes backfilling, regrading and drainage control of a
bonded area in accordance with his approved reclamation
plan. Grand Mesa has completed backfilling, regrading
and drainage control of the Red Canyon Mine and has
therefore filed this bond release application.
An as-built, certified post-mining topographic map, Map
No. 2.05.4(2)(C)-2, showing the regraded contours is
enclosed. Certified cross-sections of the backfilled
and graded areas are also enclosed, Map Nos.
2.05.4(2)(C)-4 & 2.05.4(21(C)-5.
The only drainage that runs through the mine site is
referred to as the major drainage. A certified profile
of the major drainage channel is enclosed, Map No.
2.05.4(2)(C)-3. A certified cross section of the major
drainage channel is shown on DWG. NO. 2.05.4(2)(C)-2.
Drainage control has been established in accordance
with the approved plan. As provided for in the ap-
proved plan, sediment control for two areas is ac-
complished using a combination of straw dikes and
berms. These two areas are shown on the enclosed Small
Area Exemption Map No. 2.05.3(4--3. Run-Off from the
service area and office site is directed to the sedi-
ment pond by a water bar constructed during April 1989.
17. Copies of the written notice to seek release to parties
identified in Rule 3.03.2(11:
Transmitted under separate cover on March 14, 1989.
18.
