,~
MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT D
BARTLEY GRAVEL PIT (112)
Section 15, T40N, R19W, NMPM
Expansion of the mining area west and north of 110 Permit
No. 84-155 is expected to be required late in the fall of 1986
upon completion of the southerly parts of the presently
permitted area. Topsoil remaining on that southerly portion
will be dozed west to the existing topsoil stockpile and the
remaining sandstone resources ripped and dozed into a stockpile
in the "worked out" pit floor immediately to the north.
Stockpiles of prepared "product" will then be loaded into trucks
for transport to western county road construction and
maintenance projects. (See Fig. 1)
Following depletion of the resources in the south part of
the 110 permitted area topsoil will be shifted to the graded,
worked-out pit floor.
Topsoil and overburden will then be stripped from the
newly permitted (112) Area "A" and stockpiled to either side in
the completed southerly end of the 110 permit and westerly
adjacent to the new Excavation Area "A". Sandstone resources
will be ripped and dozed into stockpiles to the north to be
hauled away. Resources should be depleted from Excavation Area
"A" late 1986. (See Fig. 2)
Succeeding excavations B, C, ~ D will proceed north to
northeast along the gas pipeline right-of-way to the northeast
boundary corner of the new (112) permitted area.
Units for excavation at a particular time are limited by
the practicality of moving topsoil and rip-loosened sandstone
gravel product by bulldozer. It has been demonstrated that
dozing cannot be cost effective over distances greater than 200
to 300 feet. '~Jork units then shall be limited to approximately
three acres at a time, although preparations for a fresh area
may begin while finishing the on-going area.
After depletion of recoverable resource southeast of the
pipeline right-of-way, excavation will proceed west and
southwest from the northeast corner of the permitted area, using
worked out areas to stockpile topsoil and prepared gravel
product where practical. All of the permitted area, except the
fifty-foot wide pipeline right-of-way, is considered to be major
disturbance, since it is all excavated and utilized for
processing before reclamation topsoiling can begin.
