:~~. `~~ • • 11111111111llllllll
BUFFALO #1
EXHIBIT A - Legal Description
Section 34, SE 4, NE y, and NE 4, SE4 of Section 33,T7S,
R62L4. Section 4, and NWy of Section 3, TBS, R62W,
6th P.M., containing 1522 acres more or less, Five
acres affected.
EXHIBIT B - Mining Plan
Buffalo #1 is an open pit clay mine in the Dawson Formation.
The clay lies flat in the top of small buttes. The overburden is
composed of a natural calcined clay and beneath the calcined material
is a forty (40) foot vein of clay. The top soil is approximately
three (3} feet in depth. The clay is mined with an HD-11 Cat, there-
fore there are no highwalls at this particular site.
The open pit was started in a southeasterly direction and will
end in a southwesterly direction.
The overburden is stockpiled
on the southwest side of the pit.
EXHIBIT C - Map
See attached.
EXHIBIT D - Wildlife, Water Resources, Vegetation and Soils information
See attached Wildlife Statement.
See attached Soil Conservation Service Statement.
EXHIBIT E- Reclamation Plan
As we advance with the pit the overburden is used as fill and
the land sloped to conform with the adjacent areas. Since there
is no irrigation water we must depend entirely on rain and snowfall
for reclamation purposes. In order to stabilize the area until the
clay is all mined we propose that the area be allowed to return to
rangeland.
Reclamation work will proceed by contouring the pit to the
adjacent land. This work will be done with the HD-lI Cat, leaving
the area with through drainage and slopes no steeper than 3:1.
Topsoil from the stockpiles will be moved over the entire
effected area with the HD-11 Cat. The topsoil will be approximately
-1-
