EXIIIBIT A._-_Legal_Description
Approximately 9.9 acres in the SW 1/4 of the SW '/a of Section 25, TSN, R49W
of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado. The pit azea lies east of the oxbow of
Rock Creek and is an area approximately 725' by 600', although it is irregular in shape.
EXfIIB.IT $_.-.Site. Description
a) Vegetation -
The site has been in dryland farming in the most recent past. It currently
has stubble remaining from the crop in 2004.
Soil Information -
The Natural Resource Conservation Service soil maps show the soil as
being Paoli fine sandy loam, a soil typically on floodplains of intermittent
drainageways. Permeability of this soil is moderately rapid. Paoli fine
sandy loam is a good source of road fill and a fair source for small stones.
b) Permanent_man_made_structures
There aze no permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected
area.
c) Water_resources
The excavation will occur outside of the oxbow of Rock Creek, a normally
dry creek that does run when there is heavy rain in the azea. Since the pit sits
outside of the creek area, the only water that affects the site would be runoff'
from heavy rainfall. Rainfall in the area ranges from 15 to 19 inches per year.
The site will generally not be impacted by water. The water table in the area
is substantially below the surface, in most cases about 150' deep.
d) Wildlife
No significant amount of wildlife has been encountered during any of the
visits to the site. Normal species appearing at the site could be coyotes,
rabbits, skunks, badgers, and pheasants. There aze no known threatened or
endangered species.
