I have finished the adequacy review of the minino aivcireclamation~p~,~c~~-L
for the above captioned operation and have several comments. Z will
present these comments on an exhibit-by-exhibit basis. Any exhibits or
parts thereof not mentioned are considered adequate at this time.
First of a11, please verify that this mining operation is the same one
for which a 1I2 permit application was submitted on April 19, 1978 (and
subsequently withdrawn). rf this is the case, should the Zega1 description
(F,xhibit A) read SW 1/4 of tJW 1/9 Section 5 (as in the original application)
or Nk'1/4, SW I/4, Section 5 (as in the present application)?

J 1. Please clarify whether the indicated slopes for the various mining
operations are to be considered horizontal: vertical or vertical: horizontal.
J 2. The pond into which the woter from the present exploratory pit area
is to be pumped is not shown on the map. Please clarify the position of
this pond.
3. Any topsoil stockpiled for one growing season or Longer should be
-planted with a £ast-growing perennial grass cover (such as Western wheatgrass
at 6 Ibs. PLS/acre, broadcast rate) to stabilize it.
4. The description of the terraciny of the pit is somewhCh confusing.
Please provide a cross-sectional diagram to scale in order to clarify this
matter.
5. What is the milling process to 8e used in this operation? Depending
on the type of process proposeci~ there may be reclamation cronsiderations.
i E. The scheduling of the mining needs clarification. Where are stages
~ 1 and 2 (on the map)? what is the estimated date of completion of mining
on the site?
