UNITED STATES D~RTMENT OF AGRICULTURE •
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE Box 85, Cripple Creek, CO 80813 Phone: 689-2556
suluecr: Teller County Gravel Pita
on'r[: peril 16. 1982
To: Dine Land Reclamation Board
In response to the reviex of the submitted materiel for Teller
County Gravel Pita, some question vas raised ae to the accuracy of
the soils information. I looked at sll sites and do know that the
soils are basically the save at all pits. Basically the description
is accurate for soils that have developed on Pikes Peak Granite. It
stands to reason that the soils found at each Bite will be very similar
since the mined raterial ie Pikes Peak Granite. This same generic
voile description is used in the Soil Conservation Service Soils hand-
book for Teller County.
Sincerely,
DD:se
D~ --
Dennis Davidson
District Conservationist
USDA-SCS
Cripple Creek, CO
,., ~ ~,~~

0
