NRCS or agricultural extension office and will reflect the nutrient requirements of the
species in the seed mix. Fertilization may be delayed up to three growing seasons aRer
initial planting to minimize weed growth in the reseeded azeas.
Reve2etation Success Criteria
The criterion for evaluation of revegetation success for the approved post-mining land use
is vegetation cover. This vegetation cover must be sufficient to control erosion. Based
on sampling at other mines sites in the azea and the pre-mining vegetation studies, a
revegetation cover standazd was established.
The following will be the revegetation success criteria for the Carbon Junction Mine:
Vegetation Cover
Vegetation cover of the reclaimed area will be successful when vegetation cover is 90
percent of the cover standazd of 40 percent with 90 percent statistical confidence.
Herbaceous Production
There is no herbaceous production revegetation success standazd.
Woody Plant Density
There is no woody plant density revegetation success standard.
Species Composition
There is no species composition revegetation success standazd.
TR08, TRl l (v 1.0) 5-40 Revised 9/97, 8/02
