-36a-
..
Vegetation Survey Supplement (Stipp Area)
On Deca[ber 9, 1980 a survey of the supplemental mining azea as shown
on D~hibit 10-1 was conducted by personnel frvn QIIRB and Peabody Coal
Crngaany. The supplarental azea (29.6 acres) wnsisted of the following
vegetation types:
1. Ctasslaml (1.6 acres) -The grac!a++~ type is fully described on
pages 29-30 on Tab 10. ~ •"
2. Upland sage (7.0 acres) -The upland sage type is described on
pages 31-32 of Tab 10. 74ie only difference between the sage-
brush ocmmmity in the suppleuental area and that found on the
rest of the penoit area is that the supplanental azea had minor
disturbance by mining activities in the late 1950's. The re-
sulting ~geh.,.~h oaammity is a product o£ natural succession,
as m seeding Program had beat eaPloyed on this area.
3. Disturbed arcs (19.3 acres) -The A;4+++*+~~ azea as stiom on
E~fiibit 10-1 is a product of pant mining and disturbances re-
dated to current activities arourrl the step facilities, in-
~luaing the "bye rand" for spent equipment, and acoesa maws.
a. Nab„•a~ aevegetatlon (l.s ages) - As strewn on Dd,ibit lo-l,
this oamnmity is frnmd on old mirn spoil east of the step
area. Natural sucoession has resulted in a vegetation ma-
munity draninated by rubber rahbitY`n,ch (Chrysott~us nauseosus),
blue grams (HOUteloua gracilis), and annual grasses. No seeding
program has been ic~leoented onthis area. All revegetation was
a product of natural irrvasion,
L
`I1
u
(Revised Mardi 2006) Attachment 2.05.6(2)-1-42
