REPORT <br /> OF A <br /> SOILS INVESTIGATION <br /> SCOPE <br /> This report presents the results of a Solis Investigation prepared <br /> for the proposed gravel pit located east of Riverside Drive east of <br /> Fort Collins, Colorado. The investigation was carried out by means <br /> of test borings. . <br /> The objectives of this investigation were to (1) determine if <br /> economic deposits of gravel exist at the site, and (2) determine the <br /> approximate quantity of material available. <br /> S117E INVESTIGATION <br /> The field investigations, carried out on January 19 and 22, 1978, <br /> consisted of drilling and logging twelve (12) test borings. The loca- <br /> tions of the test borings are shown on the Test Boring Location Plan <br /> Included on page 4 of this report. Boring toga prepared from the <br /> field logs are shown on pages 6 . 7 , and g . These logs show <br /> soils encountered and groundwater at the time of the investigation. <br /> All borings were advanced with a four-inch diameter, continuous- <br /> type, power-fligbt auger drill. During the drilling operations, a <br /> field engineer from Empire Laboratories. Inc. , was .present and made <br /> a continuous visual Inspection of the soils encountered. <br /> SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The proposed site is located east of Riverside Drive and north of <br /> i Prospect Street, east of Fort Collins, Colorado. More particularly, <br /> the site is described as a tract of land situate in the Southeast 1/4 <br /> of Section 18. Township 7 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P. M. , <br /> Larimer County, Colorado. <br /> 7be area consists of relatively flat irrigated farm land and has <br /> minor drainage to the mouth and east <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER CONDITIONS <br /> The soil profile at the site consists of strata of materials <br /> arranged in different combinations. In order of Increasing depths, <br /> they are as follows: <br />
