III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
SAP 2 _ 1978
Land Reclamation Board f,; cD .
1313 Sherman Street Colo. Depf(of Tvalur+iF L
Denver, Colo. 80203 urces
Gentlemen:
This letter is to voice my objections to the issuance
of a permit to mine as requested by Bestway Paving
Co. For months we have been asking for some control
on air pollution to be enforced in this matter and there
seems to be so much red tape we have not yet been able
to accomplish that. We have asked for authentic noise
studies to be made, but have not yet been able to get
that done. We have requested safety measures and to
date, that has not been done. We have requested some
assurances on future use of the land and that issue has
been skirted.
Actually„ we don't want a mine at all, but if it is
necessary, then can' t it be controlled and definite
standards be seet forth which can be enforced? We did
manage to get some operations standards included in
the Special Use Permit, but we now see that the mining
plan as submitted to you doesn' t show those. What is
going on and why are we being thwarted at every turn?
Please do not issue the requested permit without
giving us some assurances that we will not be inundated
by water, dust, noise, traffic, etc.
Very truly yours,
/y
/ L
