<br />• <br />4.6.1.3.6 Water Usage <br />Mine Site <br />Snowmass Coal is the owner of two absolute water rights, one for the <br />Thompson Creek No. 1 Mine and the other for the Thompson Creek No. 3 <br />Mine. The percent of water claimed for the No. 1 Mine is .222 cubic <br />ft./sec. of time (143,500 gpd). The amount of water claimed for the <br />No. 3 Mine is .0462 cubic ft./sec. of time (29,900 gpd). This amounts <br />to a total water right of .2682 cubic ft./sec. (173,460 gallons/day <br />absolute). The beneficial use of the water is industrial, milling, <br />mining, domestic, irrigation, commercial and all other beneficial <br />uses. Copies of the decrees are enclosed. the water being discharged <br />from the Mine No. 1 and No. 3 is decreed tributary to the Colorado <br />River. A total of .186 cubic ft./sec. (120,000 gpd) of water is <br />currently being pumped from the No. 1 and No. 3 Mines, this water is <br />used in the mining operation or discharged to North Thompson Creek. <br />See Figure 3.6.1-10.
