BANTA, Director October 20, 1988 Mr. Rick Holbrook Office of Surface Mining Brooks Towers 1020 Fifteenth Street Denver, Colorado 80202 Dear Mr. Holbrook: Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on October 24, 1988, an application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-82-054, by Pueblo Coal Inc, 278 Sawyer Dr Ste 1-A, Durango, CO 81301, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. The applicant proposes to continue conducting surface coal mining operations at the Carbon Junction Mine located two miles southeast of Durango, on Ewing A1esa in La Plata County, Colorado. The property is located within Section 4, Township 34N, Range 91J, Section 33, Township 34 1/2 F1, Range 9W, and Section 33, Township 35N, Range 9W. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps, "Durango East" and "Loma Linda." A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E Second Avenue, Durango, CO. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference on the application may be submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the 11ined Land Reclamation Division, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 666-3567. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00 p. m., within thirty days after the last public notice in the local newspaper.
