RE: Items Required by the Division for Proper Reclamation Bond Calculations,
Transit Mix Concrete, Daniel's Sand Pit lt2, Permit No. M-73-007-SG
Dear Mr. Heifner:
On October 29, 1991 Mr. Bud Herskind, President of Transit Mix Concrete,
contacted Mr. Bruce Humphries, Supervisor of the Minerals Program at Mined
Land Reclamation, requesting a meeting to resolve issues raised during the
9/19/91 site inspection by the Division. The Division feels before such a
meeting can be held, the following information must be provided to properly
calculate the required reclamation cost.
..1. Operator must identify all structures that have concrete slab
floors, and describe the composition of each structure, i.e.
concrete, wood, steel, masonry, etc. and include all dimensions.
~•2. The total acreage that would need to be topsoiled and seeded.
~ 3• An existing disturbance contour map, with contour intervals of no
greater than two feet.
4. Representative cross-sections of main pit areas, showing both the
existing and proposed regraded configurations.
Q5 Provide the height, length and angle of all the highwalls in the
disturbed area. If the operator provides a good set of maps and
comparative cross-sections as requested in Item i/3, these
dimensions will not be required.
~6. A detailed backfilling and grading plan of the permit area specific
to each pit.
C~ Identify all portions of reclaimed surfaces that are subject to
compaction during mining operations, such as haul and access roads,
yards, lay-down areas, etc. All such areas would need to be ripped
prior to topsoil distribution.
