2.05.6(3) Protection of the Hvdrolo¢ical Balance
1. On table A and B of Appendix A, V-11, the applicant presents data used to
determine flow gradients in the coal seams. In calculating gradients for the
FF seam, well measur ®ents and distances are used for wells HFC-4 and IIFC-2A.
Locations of these wells are not shown on either Exhibit G-1 or 9-21. Locations
of these wells shall be shown on the above-mentioned exhibits.
Response: Well HFC-4 is shown on Exhibit F-9-21 of Q~apter F. '
k'ell HFC-Za is located immediately adjacent to HFC-2 and was not completed.
All data ascribed to well HFC-2a is for well HFC-2. Both holes are shoom
on Exhibit G-4. Obviously, the gradient is insignificantly affected.
• 2. The applicant states in V-11, Appendix A, Page 8, "The length of the area
through which inflow would occur was calculated by adding the distance to the
hydrologic divide to twice the distance of the mine face at the greatest depth
of penetration, as indicated in footnote (e) of table D and table E". This
statement contradicts information presented in D and E, footnote (c). The
applicant should clarify this contradiction and should provide rational for
his method of calculating zone of influence (footnote (c} of table D and E).
'~ J
- .,
