The mine discharged 34, 000, 000 gallons of this <br />water to Bear Creek in 1977 under an NPDES permit. It is estimated <br />that some 12, 000, 000 gallons of the total generated water will be <br />shipped from the mine as surface moisture on the coal. This 12, 000, 000 <br />gallons of water is considered the beneficially used water which is covered <br />in the attached permit application. If you have any questions, please call <br />Glenn H.
