Box 13, Woody Creek, Colorado 81656 <br />~- ~ (303) 923.2399 <br />March 28, 1979 <br />Revegetation Plan for Vagneur Sand 6 Gravel Site <br />Initial work on the Vagneur site shall consist of the construction and <br />stabilization of an earthen berm along the south western portion of the pit <br />site boarding the existing access road to the Racetrack. This berm is depicted <br />in Exhibits A b B on the site plan map. An additional berm will be installed <br />around the maintenance and storage area as shown by Exhibit C on the site plan <br />map. These berms shall be approximately 10 feet tall and contain side slopes <br />no greater than 2:1. <br />A four to six inch depth of topsoil will be placed on the berms. A seed <br />mixture corresponding to that recommended by the Soil Conservation Service <br />will be broadcast on the berm areas before the first snow in late fall. After <br />seedlings are established in the second year, soil tests will ibe taken to ascertain <br />if additional fertilizers are neededto faci litate plant growth. <br />All areas to be excavated for sand and gravel extraction will be reclaimed <br />as soon as practical after work has been completed in an area where the <br />operator has concluded work. The excavated area shall be retained at a max- <br />imum slope not to exceed 2:1. Re~egetation shall occur as depicted above <br />t , .. <br />for construction of the berm areas. <br />An annual review of progress on revegetation shall be conducted by the <br />Pitkin County Commissioners at public hearing. <br />
