The permit will be for 500 tons of rock to be mined <br />over the next 5 years. Surface disturbance will not exceed 1.5 acres at any given time and will be <br />contained within the permitted area (map). Staging and equipment storage will occur within the <br />1.5 acre boundary. The mining operation will include a Rock Drill used to drill large rocks and <br />splitting the stone into sections about the size of 4' x 4' x 8'. The scrap stone will be made into <br />landscape stone, or used for reclamation. The stone to be cut, is all on the surface or <br />outcropping, and will require no dirt work. All trees removed will be stock piled along perimeter <br />and used for reclamation. The stone will be placed on pallets using a track hoe excavator or a <br />loader with forks. The location is in the vicinity of an abandoned oil and gas pad, and the same <br />access road will be used to access the rock permit area. Minimal improvements will be made to <br />the two track road. "BLM will monitor saleable and leasable mineral operations to ensure proper resource <br />recovery and evaluation, production verification, diligence and inspection, and enforcement of <br />the lease, sale, or permit terms.
