As mining progresses the face will extend from northwest to southeast. Across the finger and
gradually deepen as the mine moves deeper into the ridges. Eventually a vertical face will extend
across the ridge that varies in height from zero to twenty-five feet. This near vertical face will be
worked to the northwest until we get near the permit limits. As mining approaches the north, a
setback will be established equivalent to three times the depth of the face.
The site will be mined in the direction shown on the Mining Plan Map. There is already an
existing road into the site and will only need to be extended into the permitted area as defined by
GPS coordinates. As noted earlier in this document the operator agrees to not impede any
progress of the county and will make adjustments to the existing road to remedy any identified
impediments. The product will enter onto County Road 79 and use existing county roads to
transport to the construction sites. A portion of the site will be used to stockpile topsoil until it is
needed.
The material is a gravel cobble deposit suitable for making roads and construction bases. The
upper 2 - 3 inches of material will be saved for use in reclamation and placed either in the setbacks
around the mined area or on the floor of the excavated area.
When mining is compete we expect to leave the site sloped so as to preserve the natural drainage
similar to what now exists. The floor of the mined area will be graded to approximate the slopes
of the surrounding topography. Mining will be done by using front-end loaders and dozers to
remove the bank material and deliver to trucks.
As noted above we will salvage the upper 2 - 3 inches of material for use as a grown medium.
When encountered it will be stripped and stockpiled around the site for use in reclamation. If the
sot! stockpiles remain undisturbed for more than one growing season a cover crop of western
wheatgrass will be planted at a rate of 3.0 Ibs / 200 sq. ft.
On-site equipment may include, but is not limited to, a motor grader, front-end loader, motor
scrapers, a dozer, dump trucks and a water truck.
