In addition, <br />• there also appears to be a generous capacity for sediment accumulation in the <br />5-pond system of Plate I. <br />It is emphasized that by not diverting stormflows out of Westmoreland <br />Canyon, the modified plan increases flood hazards in the lower basin. In <br />a large runoff event, considerably greater environmental and structural <br />daFage can be expected to occur. If the modified plan is implemented, <br />the capacities of all drainage structures in the East Fork I watershed should <br />be increased to accomodate the higher runoff peaks. <br /> <br /> <br />• <br />
