<br />Threatened and Endangered Species Survey Page 3 <br />2.0 SURVEY RESULTS <br />2.1 PLANT INVESTIGATION <br />The survey area is largely oak brush along with chokecherry and serviceberry and patches of aspen <br />and Douglas-fir on mostly north- and east-facing upper slopes. 131ue spruce and boxelder are <br />scattered mostly in the canyon bottoms. Several seeps on the canyon sides support willows, <br />hawthorn, narrowleaf cottonwood, and river birch. These species also occur in the bottom of <br />Sylvester Gulch, where there is a trickle of surface water. A few small grassy (and mostly weedy) <br />meadows are scattered through the area. Small sandstone escarpments occur on the canyon <br />sides.
