Bos 176
Oak Creek, CO 80467
(303)+736-8111
By letter of August 17, 1987, the permittee has requested that the winter
monitoring exemption that is now in effect for outfall 003 be extended to
outfall 006 also.
Both outfall 003 and 006 are located in a remote location near each other.
When winter snowfall accumulate, the terrain is such that these monitoring
points become inaccessible. Both outfalls are in an undisturbed area of the
site. The permittee has committed to make every effort to reach the outfall
006 but believes that there will Se times when it is inaccessible.
This permit drafter recently visited the site and observed that the outfall is
difficult to reach in optimum summer weather and would be inaccessible when
heavy snow falls and drifts in the area. Thus, the winter monitoring exemption
will be extended to outfall 006.
In conformance with Section 6.9.3(10) of the Regulations for the State
Discharge Permit System (5 CCR 1002-2), this permit amendment is not subject to
public notice provisions.
Joa C.
