Permit Application for Rapid Rail Loadout
• The present preparation plant and rail Loadout has historically
shipped up to 1,300,000 tone per year.* A shortage of conventional rail
cars requires that P6M ship by "unit train." Since the present system
cannot load a unit train, it is necessary to build a new rapid Loadout
adjacent to, and immediately north of the present plant,
•_ The old rail Loadout will be abandoned except for shipping 10,000
tons per year for the local domestic market. The new system will use
all of the old system except the present rail Loadout.
A crusher, screen (for local domestic market only) conveyors, 12'~
thousand ton storage silo, surge bin, weigh bin and loading facilities
for a continually-moving unit train vill be added.
The attached calculations show that total particulate emissions
from the new plant will be less than the old plant.
•
. *It is "grand-fathered" and did not need a permit to construct.
REVISED 7/81 2 p
