EXHIBIT C:
1. An arrow indicating the direction of mining in the
excavation area would clarify the mining procedure..
(A statement of the direction of mining would work
as well.)
From phase indicated on the Mining Plan Map, we expect
future excavation to first be to the south and east.
2. Why is the excavation area to be such a small part
of the permit area? Are other areas within the 105
acres to be mined at a later time?
The excavation site shown on the Mining Plan Map is
expected to last for five years.
We are hopeful that by permiting the entire area now,
modifications to the plan can be made through our
annual reports. Additionally, stockpile operations,
topsoil relocation, parking lots, building and plant
construction, etc. will affect a much larger portion
of the site.
3. Is the area labeled "topsoil" to the east of the
excavation area a region for topsoil storage or an
area for mining of topsoil for use elsewhere? If
topsoil is taken from here for use elsewhere, there
must be an adequate amount remaining for reclamation
to succeed in this particular area.
While the low western portion of the land has little or
no topsoil, the eastern area has by our own investigation,
approximately 3 feet of topsoil.
Though we will of course exercise good judgement in this
regard, we are confident ample topsoil exists for our
purposes.
4. Is topsoil to be stripped from the parking area in
the southwest part of the permit area?
Topsoil will be stripped from all areas to be affected.
This includes roads, building sites, parking lots,
stockpile areas, plant areas, excavation areas, etc.
5. When gravel is stored in the "Future Gravel Storage"
area, the topsoil should be stripped from this area.
Noted. See ~p 4 above.
.~
~~ LON ST RUCTION. INL.
