r `••~
•
Page -2-
APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR LIMITED IMPACT OPERATION (Cont'd)
Water: A few Springs cut as we mine, they dry up.
A pond has been built to take care of the
run-off till it dries.
Vegetation: Cactus, Soap Weed and grass.
Soils: Clay, sandstone, very little top soil; it
is sandy.
11.) Reclamation Plans: ROBCO has mined this land since
1961 and as we advance with the pit we push overburden
back into the mined out area, reclaiming the land as
we advance (approximately 5 acres last year), making
the cost a lot less and also don't have as much open
area at one time. The ground is put on a slope con-
forming with the surrounding land as much as possible,
eliminating erosion. This land is pasture land and
goes back to cactus, soap weed and grass.
We also have planted 1,000 trees per year on the
property but lack of water kills most of them.
