Road, depths will ave~ge two to three feet and ~ocities will
. average three to four feet per second. A private residence
north of Henderson Road is the only permanently occupied struc-
ture presently in the flood plain.
Brantner Gulch drains a 9.7 square mile undeveloped area
west of the mining site. Flows in the gulch occur intermitte~.~ly
and in response to snowmelt or rainfall. The discharge of Brantner
Gulch could be expected to range fro,n 0 to as much as 4300 cfs,
the estimated peak for the 100 year flood if the basin were to
become developed.
The Brantner and *_he Locaer Clear Creek ditches traver c
the western part of the property (F'igure4 ). Laterals from These
ditches have historically irrigated n.~rt of the mining site.
Water generally flows in these ditches duriny the growing season
from April through October. The ditches intercept storm runoff
and transport water northward from the property. Brantner Gulch
is the only watercourse which carries water onto the proprr+-v from the
west. Other irrigation structures in the vicinity of tt~e mining
site include the Fulton and the Bull ditches. These two ditches
irrigate lands on the east side of the river.

-7-
