. APPENDIX B • <br />WATER BALANCE <br />Historic water use on the mining site has been for <br />irrigation. (see Appendix A. Water Rights Evaluation}. <br />The water use is summarized in Table D1. <br />Future water use on the property will be irrigation of <br />lawns un~I shrubs, evaporation f ~^~ l,~kes, acid water derived <br />from precipitation for dry grassl.,nu:~. The future water <br />use is summarizes in Tablc D'. <br />Water for reclamation iceuirem~nts t:•ill be derived from <br />the lakes. To ensn*e that there is an adequate legal supply <br />of water available co meet the reclaci~tio^ needs, water <br />used under the Brantner and Lower ~lc~ar Creek Ditches will <br />be released to the lakes and used t~ cover irrigation di- <br />versions. Water from the two ditc}. will not be used to <br />cover evaporation losses. The water balance, the difference <br />between the historic water use ~~nd tl;~ future water use as <br />shown in Table D, is 502.97 acre-feet annually. This is <br />the amount of water that is evapor«ted annually from the <br />lakes, less the historic ei_ective precipitation. <br />-21- <br />
