<br />Appendix A <br />1997 Reclamation Activities at Umetco Mine Sites <br />• Bitter Creek DMG Permit 1vI/77/295 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040105 <br />A subcave and 3 portals were closed in this azea. <br />• Burros <br />The portal was closed. <br />• Deremo-Snyder <br />DMG Permit M/77/297 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040170 <br />DMG Permit M/77/288 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040112 <br />Mine access roads were closed by the removal of road base and reshaF~ing. Ore <br />stockpile azeas were cleaned and mine waste piles were reshaped. All power lines, <br />debris and surface structures were removed with the exception of the D-2 hoist <br />facility structures. Diesel contaminated soils were uncovered during recl~unation at <br />the D-2 mine site, and a report on the soils was submitted to the Colorado Department <br />of Health and Environment. <br />• Eagle Basin <br />DMG Permit M/79/290 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040136 <br />A total of 4 portals were closed in the Eagle Basin azea. <br />• Eula Belle Mine <br />DMG Permit M/77/291 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040103 <br />One power line, and some of the mine structures were removed from the mine site. <br />Seeding occurred where mine openings were closed during 1996. <br />• Julian Mines <br />DMG Permit M/79/201HR <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040136 <br />One access road was closed, and seeding occurred where necessary. Tlie azea is <br />reclaimed and is awaiting proper vegetative growth for release. <br />• King Solomon <br />DMG Permit M/77/296 <br />Stormwater Permit COR-040103 <br />Umetco closed 34 portals and 3 ventilation raises in the area. The majority of the <br />closures were prelaw and outside the disturbed azea. <br />
