The exposure is to the
South. In the wettest of years there is no moisture in this
gully and in 1977 the area is totally lacking in moisture.
The only significant moisture in wet years is in the form of
snow which at times is sufficient for a limited cover of
rabbit brush and greasewood, and which is capable of causing
live water as far as the Meeker ditch for a few hours out of
a year.
Wildlife: There are Mule deer in the area. The
deer on occasion utilize the sagebrush, but their primary
habitat is approximately one and a half miles to the North.
Notwithstanding the existance of mule deer, their principal
habitat is the north and to the east of this dry gully. Small
game and rodents are present in the area, but limited because
of dry exposure and lack of water or feed.
Soils Information: The gravel deposit, which is a
glacial outwash, is overlain by a shallow loessal type soil
of approximately two feet in thickness. This, in turn, is
overlain by a light brown sandy loam of not more than six
inches.
Vegatation Information: The vegetation is almost
exclusively rabbit brush, greasewood, with some sagebrush.
EXHIBIT "E"
RECLAMATION PLAN
The reclamation plan is to bulldoze surface
materials including loessal soils to a forty percent slope
throughout the pit and seed to crested wheat grass as deter-
mined by the Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation
service.
